Releases

Release Notes

v1.13.0 (2026.07.11)

Highlights

  • Resumes can now use your personal email instead of your GigHQ tracking address — a new setting lets you choose which email appears on generated resumes
  • Interview Prep voice narration is fixed — questions are read aloud again after a bug silently broke text-to-speech
  • “Prepare for Interview” now requires a job description — practice questions are always tailored to the actual role instead of starting with nothing to go on
  • Duplicate interview entries are gone — interviews confirmed by email, an ATS, and a calendar invite now update the same interview instead of creating phantom duplicate entries
  • New job board supported in the browser extension: Workable
  • Coach Portal sessions no longer randomly sign you out — expired sessions now refresh silently in the background instead of failing and forcing a re-login
  • Profile scoring no longer factors in Projects (superseded by Career Journal), and the score guide/tooltips have been updated to match

Web App

Interview Scheduling

  • Fixed duplicate interview entries: when an interview is confirmed by more than one source (a confirmation email, an ATS notification, the calendar invite itself), those signals now update the same interview instead of each creating its own row and timeline entry
  • Fixed interview times occasionally being off by an hour during daylight saving time

Interview Prep (SmartPrep)

  • Fixed text-to-speech never actually speaking the interview questions aloud
  • “Prepare for Interview” is now disabled until a job description is added, so practice questions are always tailored to the role
  • Fixed the back button on the Smart Prep page sending you to the full applications list instead of back to the specific application
  • Fixed a crash on the interview prep report screen that could occur before the analysis had finished loading
  • Backend reliability improvements reduce the chance of practice sessions failing or timing out

Resume

  • New setting: use your personal email instead of your GigHQ tracking address on generated resumes
  • Added a clearly labeled “Back to Application” button on resume analysis reports, placed next to Export Report

Profile

  • Profile strength scoring no longer includes Projects (this is being replaced by Career Journal); remaining categories were rebalanced so a perfect score is achievable again
  • Fixed the profile strength indicator not displaying the correct tier for scores outside the expected range

Applications & Timeline

  • Fixed composing a new message with no CC recipient leaving a blank CC entry that could reappear on later replies
  • Fixed long email/note subject lines overlapping other entries in the timeline on mobile
  • Fixed an error loading a company’s jobs list when using the default sort order

Dashboard

  • Fixed a timezone bug that could group late-night activity into the wrong day on the weekly activity chart

AI Chat (MCP Server)

  • Asking for your recent applications now tells you when there are more than the 10 shown, with the total count, and points you to a full search

Browser Extension

  • New supported job board: Workable
  • Indeed job links are now normalized before saving, so revisiting the same posting no longer creates duplicate saves due to changing tracking parameters

Coach Portal

  • Fixed sessions silently signing coaches out — expired sessions now refresh in the background instead of failing and forcing a re-login
  • Fixed switching organizations while impersonating, which was incorrectly blocked with a “read-only mode” error
  • Removed a stale “Projects” line from the profile score guide tooltip that no longer reflects how scoring works
  • Fixed the profile strength indicator not displaying the correct tier for scores outside the expected range
  • Fixed a rare case where approving a student’s team join request could be attributed to the wrong organization

v1.12.0 (2026.07.05)

Highlights

  • Rejected now splits into “Company Rejected” and “Candidate Withdrew” — your pipeline captures why an application was archived, not just that it was
  • Reactivating an application restores its previous stage — no longer resets to “Applied” no matter where it left off
  • Stale Prospecting applications are cleaned up automatically — after 4 weeks with no application submitted, they’re moved to Candidate Withdrew
  • “Last Correspondence” is now “Last Activity” — reflects any update to an application (status changes, notes, etc.), not just the last email, across the web app and Coach Portal
  • Notes can be much longer — the character limit jumps from 600 to 3,000, everywhere notes are added
  • Resume and cover letter downloads are named uniquely per application — no more files silently overwriting each other when applying to multiple jobs
  • New job boards supported in the browser extension — Tesla and government job postings (NEOGOV/GovernmentJobs) can now be auto-detected and saved
  • Coach invite reliability fixes — existing users can now properly accept coach invites, and organizations can be deleted without accidentally deleting anyone’s account

Web App

Application Pipeline

  • Rejected split into two statuses: “Company Rejected” (the company passed, or stopped responding) and “Candidate Withdrew” (you marked yourself no longer interested). Both still roll up into a single “rejected” stage visually, but now the reason is preserved
  • Reactivating an archived application now restores it to whatever stage it was at before (Prospecting, Applied, Interviewing, etc.) instead of always dropping it back to “Applied”
  • Prospecting applications that go stale — if you haven’t submitted an application within 4 weeks of adding a prospect, it’s automatically moved to Candidate Withdrew and archived, with a notification explaining why
  • Status labels display cleanly everywhere (no more raw underscore-separated names slipping through)

Applications List

  • “Date Applied” tracking is replaced by true “Last Activity” — the date shown and used for sorting now reflects the most recent thing that happened on an application, not just the last email correspondence
  • Fixed a bug where the default sort order didn’t match what was actually being returned

Notes

  • Note length limit raised from 600 to 3,000 characters

Candidate Match Analysis & Resume

  • Fixed a bug where regenerating a resume or Candidate Match Score could briefly show results from a different application
  • Candidate Match Score button no longer stretches awkwardly on some screen sizes

Career Compass

  • The “Write my own” objective option is now a clearly separate choice instead of an always-visible text box competing with the AI-generated options
  • Fixed a validation error that could pop up prematurely when choosing to write your own objective
  • Generation failures on the Career Compass home view are now handled gracefully instead of erroring out

AI Chat (MCP Server)

  • Search applications by status alone — you can now ask things like “how many applications are in Prospecting?” without naming a company; results also include a total count
  • Notes added via AI chat now support the same 3,000-character limit as the web app
  • The AI chat experience keeps status naming simple — Screening shows as part of Interviewing, and Company Rejected / Candidate Withdrew both show as Rejected, so the extra pipeline detail doesn’t clutter the AI conversation

Browser Extension

  • New supported job boards: Tesla careers and government job postings powered by NEOGOV/GovernmentJobs
  • Improved reliability scraping job descriptions from Ashby postings
  • Resume and cover letter downloads are now named with your name, the company, and the job title, so applying to multiple jobs no longer produces files that overwrite one another

Coach Portal

  • Coach invites for existing users now work correctly — accepting an invite as an existing user no longer fails with an incorrect password error
  • Fixed duplicate invite emails being sent when re-inviting a coach
  • Invite expiration dates now display as a clean date instead of a full timestamp
  • Organizations list is now paginated — previously capped at 10 with no way to see the rest
  • Team/coach assignment dropdowns now stay open while selecting multiple people and show checkboxes for clarity
  • Fixed application table sorting so clicking a column header actually re-orders results
  • Deleting an organization no longer deletes the user accounts of its coaches/admins — members are simply unlinked from the org, so their account and data stay intact
  • A coach removed from every organization can no longer use password reset to regain access to a portal they no longer belong to

Bug Fixes Summary

v1.11.0 (2026.06.28)

🚀 GigHQ.ai v1.11.0 — An overall better experience

Highlights

  • Screening stage added to your pipeline — track recruiter calls and phone screens as a distinct step between Applied and Interviewing
  • Candidate Match Score is now available for every application — manually-created applications no longer miss out; run a score anytime
  • Stronger resume bullets, everywhere — the three-number rule (action → result → impact) is now enforced across the browser extension and Career Journal guidance
  • Skip the GigHQ email if you prefer your own — email assignment is now optional at signup, and you can update it later in Settings
  • Coaches can now manage multiple organizations — switch between orgs, accept invites, and keep your work neatly separated

Web App

New: Screening Stage

  • A Screening step now sits between Applied and Interviewing in your pipeline — the right place to log recruiter calls, phone screens, and hiring manager intro calls
  • Status colors have been refreshed across the pipeline to follow a natural arc (gray → blue → teal → green → dark green → red) so it’s easier to read your progress at a glance
  • Applications that have been in Screening for more than eight weeks without activity are automatically moved to Pending so your board doesn’t get stale

Candidate Match Score

  • All applications can now be scored — the Candidate Match Score button is no longer locked behind “applied via extension.” Any application with a job description can be scored, regardless of how you added it
  • When a score can’t be generated, you now see a clear explanation with a support email button and Discord link — no more generic error messages
  • Fixed a bug where running a score on one application could briefly show stale results from a different application

Sign-Up & Settings

  • GigHQ email is now optional at signup — if you’d rather use your own email, you can skip the assignment step entirely
  • If you do skip it (or want to change later), head to Settings to assign or update your GigHQ email at any time

Application Status

  • Removed Rejected as a direct transition from Prospecting — you can’t be rejected from a role you haven’t applied to yet; this keeps your pipeline data accurate
  • Fixed a loading delay when opening Candidate Match Analysis — the report now renders immediately

Misc

AI Chat (MCP Server)

Three-Number Quantification in Your Career Journal

  • When you add or update a Career Journal entry via Claude or ChatGPT, the AI now guides you to capture three numbers for every achievement: the scale of what you did, the direct result, and the broader organizational impact
  • This produces richer journal entries that translate directly into stronger resume bullets and more compelling interview stories

Reliability

  • Fixed a bug where your Claude or ChatGPT session would silently fail after a token refresh — MCP tools now stay connected correctly after the session renews

Browser Extension

Job Market Radar

  • Companies added to your job search through the browser extension now correctly appear in the Job Market Radar — previously they were invisible in the community view

Job Scraping

  • LinkedIn job URLs are now saved in a cleaner, stable format — tracking parameters and query strings are stripped so your saved links stay reliable over time
  • Chrome, Firefox, and Edge extensions all updated in parity

Coach Portal

Multi-Organization Support

  • Coaches and admins can now belong to multiple organizations and switch between them without logging out
  • A new organization switcher in the top nav lets you jump between your orgs; each org’s students, teams, and settings stay separate
  • Existing users invited to join a new org see a streamlined flow — just enter your password, no full re-registration required
  • The invite acceptance flow now works correctly for already-logged-in coaches (previously it bounced you to the dashboard instead of landing you in the new org)

Empty States & Onboarding

  • Pages that are empty because setup isn’t complete yet — like the Applicants, Teams, Coaches, and Settings tabs — now show contextual guidance explaining what’s missing and what to do next
  • Coaches (non-admins) see role-appropriate messaging, not admin-facing instructions

UI Fixes

  • Fixed the OTP resend timer that would freeze at zero and never allow resending
  • Fixed an auth redirect loop that could strand users between the login and org-selection screens
  • Fixed the Deactivate Team confirmation modal appearing off-center

v1.10.0 (2026.06.14)

🚀 GigHQ.ai v1.10.0 — Making the platform work better for you

Highlights

  • Job Market Radar gets a major upgrade — sort companies, filter by H1B sponsorship, company size, type, and more
  • Resume editor replaced with a guided form — no more editing raw text, just fill in structured fields
  • Stronger resume bullets — AI now enforces a three-number rule: every bullet must show the action, the result, and the broader impact

Web App

Job Market Radar

  • Sortable columns — click any column header to sort companies by name, size, or other attributes
  • New filters — narrow results by H1B sponsorship history, company size, company type, and job type
  • Richer company view — more data visible per company at a glance
  • Filter controls consolidated into a single Clear Filters button for a cleaner experience

Resume Editor

  • The AI-generated resume analysis is now editable using a guided form instead of raw text — make targeted edits to specific sections without worrying about formatting

Applications

  • When an application is updated to Rejected or Offer, you’re automatically taken to the archived view

Inbox

  • Fixed a bug where email notifications about unrecognized senders would drop you on the Dashboard instead of the correct inbox tab

  • list_job_application_notes — see all notes on an application without opening the app
  • update_job_application_note — edit an existing note
  • delete_job_application_note — remove a note

Stay Logged In Longer

  • Added refresh token support — your AI chat session now renews automatically in the background so you’re not asked to log in again after a short period of inactivity

Browser Extension

Stronger Resume Bullets

  • The AI now enforces a three-number rule for every resume bullet — each point must quantify the action taken, the result achieved, and the broader organizational impact. This produces more compelling, interview-ready bullets out of the box.

Cover Letter Improvements

  • Cover letters now include a date and a proper closing line — no more bare name headers or missing sign-offs
  • PDF export of cover letters now works correctly

  • LinkedIn job URLs are now saved in a consistent, stable format so they don’t break when you revisit them

NotificationsDuplicate daily reminders for Offer-stage applications no longer fire

  • Added reactive useNotificationPermission hook so the Enable Push Notifications toggle and snackbar respond in real time when browser permission changes
  • Push notification prompt deferred to first Dashboard visit (no longer shown on sign-up)

Browser Extension

New Features

Fixes

  • Fast-fail on HTTP 503 responses with a 30-second request timeout (prevents indefinite hangs on unresponsive job boards)

Coach Portal

Student Profile

  • Career Journal added to the student profile view — coaches can see all of a student’s journal entries, with entry count badge and proper ordering after Work Experience
  • Projects section removed — aligned with the main app’s replacement of Projects by Career Journal

  • Fixed FK violation in job application merge
  • Fixed FK violation when deleting a job application that has status change log entries
  • Express v5 req.params compatibility: all UUID params cast to string
  • Status badge colors in emails aligned with the frontend color scheme
  • Fixed: interview times stored 1 hour late in UTC during daylight saving time — timezone conversion now uses DST-aware tzOffset() instead of hardcoded standard-time offsets
  • Fixed: PDF and DOCX parsing broken during profile upload — PDFs now sent as base64 data URIs for native Gemini multimodal processing; DOCX branch restored to use mammoth (.docx parser) instead of word-extractor (.doc only)

Thanks for growing with us. Big summer updates are just getting started 🔥

🌟 What’s Next?

We’re paving the way for even more AI-powered tools, smarter matching, and a seamless job search experience. Stay tuned—big things are coming!

v1.7 (2025.06.01)

🚀 v1.7 – Laying the Groundwork for Big Things Ahead!

We’re gearing up for a powerful summer, and v1.7 lays the foundation for what’s next—smarter automation, personalized experiences, and better communication tools. Here’s what’s new:

🧑‍💼 Your Profile Page is Live!

Your new Profile Page is now available at app.gighq.ai/profile 🎉

This page is the key to unlocking upcoming features like:

✨ One-click Candidate Match Scores from the Chrome Extension

📄 Smarter AI-generated resumes tailored to each job

✍️ Personalized, auto-generated cover letters

🔑 Pro tip: Be detailed when filling out your experience. AI works best when it has rich content to draw from. It can narrow down, but it can’t fill in blanks—so the more you give it, the better it performs!

📲 Push Notifications Now Work on iOS!

We’re thrilled to share that push notifications now work across all device types, including iPhone and iPad! 🎉

If you’re on iOS 16.4 or above, here’s how to enable them:

  4. Tap your new app icon to launch it
  5. Allow notifications when prompted

Now you’ll never miss an update—whether you’re on desktop, Android, or iOS.

🌟 What’s Next?

We’re paving the way for even more AI-powered tools, smarter matching, and a seamless job search experience. Stay tuned—big things are coming!

v1.6 (2025.05.02)

v1.6 – Sharper, Smarter, and One Step Closer to the Future 🚀

We’re laying the groundwork for some powerful new features launching this summer—and v1.6 is packed with updates that enhance your job search experience today, while quietly powering the magic that’s coming next.

🔍

What’s New in v1.6?

📅 Smarter Interview Tracking

We’re investing heavily in building an interview experience that works for you. This release improves how interviews are tracked, setting the stage for upcoming features like interview reminders, feedback capture, and AI-powered follow-up drafts.

✉️ Cleaner Message Threads

Threaded conversations got messy—so we fixed that. Now, in ongoing email exchanges with employers, older messages are neatly collapsed and only the most recent message is expanded—making it easier to follow the conversation without the scroll struggle.

🏢 More Insightful Company Pages

Company detail pages now include logos, descriptions, and direct links to their online presence. It’s everything you need to assess an employer—right where you need it.

📱 GigHQ.ai is Now a PWA!

Add GigHQ.ai directly to your mobile home screen and use it like an app. Up next: push notifications for iOS to keep you in the loop wherever you go.

🕵️‍♀️ Improved Application Transparency

We’ve enhanced how we handle stale applications:

  • If an Active application sees no updates for 4 weeks, we automatically move it to Archived/Pending.
  • If it remains untouched in Pending for another 4 weeks, it’s updated to Archived/Rejected—giving you a cleaner, more honest view of your pipeline.

💬 User Feedback = Real Improvements

🙌 Shoutout to Sanjay

You can now send replies from Archived/Rejected applications—for up to 7 days after they’re marked as rejected. Great catch!

🙌 Shoutout to Carla

Email links now open in a new tab, so you won’t lose your spot in the app. Smooth and intuitive, just like it should be.

🙌 Shoutout to Francis

We fixed the calendar view alignment issue on the Dashboard—because dates should definitely match days.

✨ Bonus Features That Deserve a Spotlight

📄 ResumeRank (Launched Last Week)

Wondering if your resume is working? ResumeRank uses AI to analyze how well your resume matches a job and offers actionable tips to improve it. Less guessing, more interviews. See our blog post to learn more.

✍️ Introducing CoverGenius

Hate writing cover letters? We get it. CoverGenius uses AI to craft a tailored, professional cover letter using your resume and the job description—so you can spend less time writing and more time applying.

v1.6 marks another step in our mission to build the most intelligent, transparent, and user-friendly job search platform out there. Thanks for growing with us. 🚀

v1.5 (2025.05.01)

Smarter Dashboards, Smoother Workflows, and a Little Magic ✨

We’re excited to share v1.5—an update inspired by your feedback, with a sharper focus on giving you the insights you need to manage your job search effectively.

What’s New in v1.5?

📊 A “True” Dashboard – Think of this as your personal job search command center. Now, you can quickly view the number of applications you’ve submitted over the past week, month, and year, and get an instant snapshot of where you stand with your Active applications. To give you even more context, we’ve added a calendar view—so you can track interviews, follow-ups, and key dates at a glance.

Bulk Processing for Notifications – You told us that handling notifications one at a time was frustrating, so we fixed it. Now, bulk process your notifications and clear the clutter in just a few clicks.

📬 Bulk Processing for Unidentified Messages – No more tedious one-by-one cleanup of those pesky job alerts and random emails. You can now bulk process your Unidentified Messages to keep your job search focused and organized.

🪄 And Just One More Thing… – We’re introducing our Chrome Extension! Now, while browsing job descriptions, you can instantly get company and job insights without jumping back to app.gighq.ai or www.gighq.ai. It’s like having the power of GigHQ.ai right in your browser.

We’re building a smarter, more intuitive job search platform that adapts to the needs of real job seekers. Give it a spin and let us know what you think! 🚀

v1.4 (2025.04.01)

With v1.4, we’re helping job seekers focus their energy on what matters most—interviews and opportunities worth pursuing—while increasing transparency across the platform.

What’s New in v1.4?

🎯 Interview Tracking & Reminders – Your Active job applications now clearly display scheduled interviews, with reminders sent the day before to help you stay prepared and confident.

🚫 Mark Jobs as “No Longer Interested” – Not every opportunity is the right one—and that’s okay. You can now click “I’m no longer interested in this job” to move it from Active to Archived. Stay focused on the jobs you’re truly excited about.

📈 More Transparency on Companies & Jobs – We’ve enhanced our Companies and Company Details pages with anonymous, aggregate totals showing how many applications each company is receiving via GigHQ.ai.

🆕 New Job Details Page – Want to see how a specific role is performing? The new Job Details page shows application volume and stage breakdowns—all aggregated and anonymous—so you can gauge competition and hiring activity.

We’re building a job search platform that’s data-driven, transparent, and human-centered. We’d love your feedback as we keep improving!

v1.3 (2025.03.02)

Job searching is already a complex process—our goal is to simplify it. With today’s GigHQ.ai update, we’re making it easier than ever to track applications, organize documents, and reduce distractions. Here’s what’s new:

📌 Job Application Notes – Keep track of your job search journey! Whether it’s a coffee chat, a phone call, or a networking event, add notes directly to your application timeline. Never lose track of important touchpoints.

📄 Attach Resume & Cover Letter – We’ve all been there—endless versions of “resume_final_FINAL.pdf” scattered across our desktops. Now, you can attach the exact resume and cover letter you used for each job application—so it’s always easy to find.

🔔 Smarter Notifications – Less noise, more focus. We’ve refined our notifications to prioritize updates on your Active job applications—so you get fewer, but more relevant, alerts. More customization is coming soon!

📅 Interview Calendar Sync – Got an interview? Easily forward the invite to your personal email, so it shows up on your calendar. No more manually adding details!

📬 Better Handling of Unidentified Messages – Job alerts, OTPs, and other emails can clutter your job search inbox. Now, you can archive them or associate them with an Active job application—keeping your job search organized and stress-free.

v1.2 (2025.03.01)

More Insights, More Control 🚀

With v1.2, we’re making it even easier to track your job search and access valuable insights.

What’s New in v1.2?

📊 Data Review on Dashboard – Get a clearer picture of your job search with new data insights right on your dashboard.

📬 Unidentified Messages – Not all emails are tied to job applications. Now, emails like job alerts or OTPs are captured separately, so your job search stays organized.

🏢 Companies Page – Explore the new public Companies page at gighq.ai/companies, showcasing anonymized data on where job seekers are applying.

📌 Jobs Page – See real job listings based on actual applications at gighq.ai/jobs, helping job seekers make more informed decisions.

We’re continuously building GigHQ.ai to empower job seekers with better data and tools. Try out the new features and let us know what you think! 🚀

v1.1 (2025.02.02)

Smarter & More Transparent Job Tracking 🚀

In this release, we focused on enhancements, transparency, and user control to make job tracking even more seamless.

What’s New in v1.1?

🔍 Edit Missing Job Details – Our AI is always improving, but sometimes it needs a little help! Users can now manually add or correct missing Company Names or Job Titles to keep their job history accurate.

🏢 Companies Page – See where job seekers are applying! We now display an anonymized, aggregated list of companies GigHQ.ai users have applied to—helping everyone make more informed decisions.

📌 Jobs Page – Discover job opportunities based on real application trends. The new Jobs Page showcases anonymized, aggregated job listings from our community to bring more transparency to the job search process.

🛠️ Bug Fixes & Enhancements – We’ve also made under-the-hood improvements for a smoother, more reliable experience.

GigHQ.ai is all about empowering job seekers with data. Let us know what you think—we’re just getting started! 🚀
