Eligibility

Am I Eligible?

You likely qualify if:

  • You lost your job or had your hours reduced through no fault of your own — this means layoffs, business closures, or being let go without misconduct.
  • You earned enough during your base period — you must have earned at least $1,688 in your highest-paid quarter and at least 37% of total wages outside that quarter.
  • You worked at least 18 credit weeks — earning $116 or more per week for at least 18 weeks during your base period.
  • You’re able to work, available for work, and actively looking for work every week you claim benefits.
  • You’re legally authorized to work in the U.S., and you can prove it with documents like your Social Security card or work visa.
